"To those who fear the loss of time,

We are in "unprecedented" times, as they say. But isn't all time unprecedented? Who really knows what is waiting for us just around the corner?

I'm a recent graduate, approaching twenty-four and I thought I was on track to figuring out what I want to do and who I want to be.

I've been swept up in the battle against time. Time and expectations, those conventional checkpoints that society assumes we should all be able to reach by a certain age.

Last month's worries seem futile, as do the worries of time gone by. However, this does not mean they are not important. Feelings cannot be disregarded - it is still okay to feel.

My perspective has been shifting for some time now. Yet, this period of nothing but time has changed it even more.

Time is something to be valued, not feared. We are not in a race and it's okay to do things at our own pace. This is something I am trying to adopt into my daily thoughts, whilst ignoring prompts on social media to use this time "productively" - meaning to learn a new skill or become a marathon runner.

Perhaps the time we fear we are constantly losing is actually returning to us? Use it how you see fit and take care of yourself and your loved ones.

I hope this brings someone a little comfort.

B. xx"
